Chris Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KOs) returns to his Bournemouth fortress on Saturday 6 June, back in the kind of building where his career has always seemed to carry a little more weight. Across the ring is Ryan Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs), a Canadian puncher with the record of a danger man and the style of someone who has no interest in quietly playing the away fighter.

Billam-Smith’s path to a world title started with two amateur defeats, and both men who beat him are now fighting on his undercard. Jack Massey outpointed him in the 2013 ABA final at 86kg. Cheavon Clarke outpointed him in the 2016 ABA final at 91kg. On 6 June, Massey and Clarke face each other in a 10-round cruiserweight co-feature, while the man they both beat as amateurs walks last as a former WBO world champion.

It is one of those neat little boxing circles that only makes sense years later: the two men who once stood in Billam-Smith’s way are now fighting underneath him, while he walks last as the former world champion and Bournemouth’s main attraction.

Where to watch Billam-Smith vs Rozicki: TV channel, price, streaming

This is not a pay-per-view. Billam-Smith vs Rozicki is included with a standard Sky Sports subscription in the UK and Ireland, broadcast live on Sky Sports. There is no separate PPV charge to access the card.

UK viewers without a Sky subscription can stream the event via a NOW Sports day, week, or month pass. In the US and Canada, the card streams exclusively on Paramount+.

For UK fans, this is a quieter win than it looks. In a sport that has become far too comfortable charging extra for almost anything with a belt, a name or a halfway decent poster, Sky keeping Zuffa Boxing’s UK debut inside a standard subscription gives this card a bit of old-school value.

The Split Decision prediction

Billam-Smith’s tactical key is patience, distance and the lead hand. This is not a fight he needs to win in the first three rounds. It is a fight he needs to survive cleanly early, cool the temperature, and slowly make Rozicki pay for every rushed attack.

Split Decision backs Billam-Smith to come through a rough early patch, take control behind the jab and stop a fading Rozicki between rounds 8 and 10.

What is next for Billam-Smith after Rozicki?

Billam-Smith has been open about the bigger picture. Jai Opetaia, the Ring Magazine cruiserweight champion and the man most regard as the best 200-pounder in the world, is also signed to Zuffa Boxing.

Billam-Smith has stated publicly that the prospect of a future fight with Opetaia was a major factor in his decision to sign multi-fight terms with the new promotion. Assuming he comes through Rozicki, an Opetaia world title fight is the obvious next step, and one Zuffa has the structural incentive to make.
